    • A thermal energy measurement system is disclosed for use as a calorimeter capable of providing sample thermal energy measurements in selectable modes including isothermal and/or adiabatic modes. In some embodiments, the thermal energy system further comprises a closed-loop servo controller. In some embodiments, the thermal energy measurement system is capable of providing thermal energy measurements in semi-adiabatic and/or custom programmed modes. In some embodiments, the servo controller may be implemented as a feedback circuit whose process variable is either heat flow, sample temperature, a combination thereof, or a preprogrammed time dependence of the heat flow and/or sample temperature. The output of the servo controller may be used to drive a temperature control device such as but not limited to a thermoelectric module (TEM). Methods of thermal energy measurement are also disclosed.

    • Example embodiments of the brace assembly utilize an elastic cross strap attached to mounting facilities about a joint to provide progressive resistance to the extension, flexion or other movement of body parts about the joint. In some embodiments for a knee joint, the brace assembly provides a progressive resisting force to resist hyperextension of the knee. Some embodiments of the assembly may be able to accommodate different joints, different size wearer's of the assembly and different tension settings such as for athletes during competition. Some embodiments of the brace assembly may be used bilaterally and can be made without metal bracing to comply with the requirements of some sports. Some embodiments of the mounting facilities may have through holes.

    • A chimney cap assembly capable of being secured to a chimney or flue of either air-cooled or non-air-cooled types, embodiments of the chimney cap assembly including a collar member and an overlap joint. The collar member having a compressible portion with an outside circumference that is compressible to a compressed circumference smaller than an opening of the chimney or flue. The collar member also having an overlap joint with a pivot whereby the compressible portion of the collar member can be compressed. Embodiments of the chimney cap assembly include the collar member being attached to a base. Embodiments of the cap assembly also include means to form a ledge on the chimney or flue and a lower mesh structure. Also disclosed are embodiments of kits to provide such means to form a ledge and a lower mesh structure.
