摘要： A computing device including a multi-touch surface, and a method of operation thereof are described. The method comprises: detecting a customer's hand placed palm downwards on the multi-touch surface and detecting the customer's hand pivoting upwards from the detected palm downwards position so that an edge of the hand is placed on the multi-touch surface. The method also comprises displaying a private interaction window located adjacent to, and on the palm side of, the customer's hand; and communicating private data on the private interaction window. The private interaction window is dimensioned to be shielded by the customer's hand.

The ATM (12b) comprises a transceiver (80) for wireless communication with portable devices (26,28) in the vicinity of the ATM (12b). The ATM (12b) is operable to create a profile of persons in the vicinity of the ATM (12b) by detecting portable devices such as PDAs (26) and cellphones (28) that have a wireless communications facility (26a,28a) and identifying the owners of the portable devices. The ATM is also operable to display an advertisement appropriate for the created profile of persons.

摘要： A terminal, such as an automated teller machine, comprises: a customer identification device; a sensor for detecting presence of a customer at the terminal; and a controller coupled to the customer identification device and the sensor. The controller is programmed to (i) track the customer's location, (ii) create a session on identification of a customer, and (iii) close the created session when a customer absence criterion is fulfilled. The functions of the customer identification device and the sensor may be performed by a single unit. The customer absence criterion may comprise a time period during which the customer is not detected at the terminal.
