摘要： A gripper for finding, clamping and releasing spools having a circular grip part such as a flange or a bore hole as well as a method to operate such gripper. The gripper has a driveable clamp that is provided with a scanning system comprising ‘presence-absence detectors’ that detect the presence or the absence of the circular grip part. The gripper is slowly moved over the flange of the spool and by means of the detectors and some calculation the centre of the grip part is identified followed by the gripping of the spool. The gripper has the advantage that no back-and-forth movement is needed in order to locate the circular grip part and that the superfluous motion of the gripper is prevented.

摘要： A helical compression spring has an outer diameter between 15 and 50 mm. The helical compression spring having a helically coiled steel wire. The diameter d of the steel wire is between 2 and 5 mm. The steel wire contains a steel alloy having between 0.8 and 0.95 wt % C; between 0.2 and 0.9 wt % Mn; between 0.1 and 1.4 wt % Si; between 0.15 and 0.4 wt % Cr; optionally between 0.04 and 0.2 wt % V; optionally between 0.0005 and 0.008 wt % B; optionally between 0.02 and 0.06 wt % Al; unavoidable impurities; and the balance being iron. The steel alloy has a carbon equivalent higher than 1. The carbon equivalent is defined as: C wt %+(Mn wt %/6)+(Si wt %/5)+(Cr wt %/5)+(V wt %/5). The microstructure of the steel wire in the helical compression spring is drawn lamellar pearlite.

The helical compression spring contains a helically coiled coated steel wire. The helically coiled coated steel wire contains a steel core and a metallic coating layer. The steel core contains a steel alloy. The steel alloy contains 0.8 to 0.95 wt % carbon, 0.2 to 0.9 wt % manganese; 0.1 to 1.4 wt % silicon; optionally one or more micro-alloying element. The microstructure of the steel core is drawn lamellar pearlite. The metallic coating layer contains at least 84% by mass of zinc.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a straight steel monofilament for the reinforcement of belt ply of a pneumatic tyre, where the arc-height of the straight steel monofilament is less than 30 mm. The steel monofilament is plastically deformed by a twisting along the axis of the steel monofilament on a double-twist apparatus. The plastic twist deformation eliminates the surface stress difference on the steel monofilament and provides a strainght steel monofilament for belt ply reinforcement. This provides a simple solution with existing apparatus to manufacture straight steel monofilament suitable for tire reinforcement with high speed for mass production.

摘要： This invention relates to a tension buffer system for multi-wirepay-off system. The tension buffer system comprises guiding pulleys (4, 4a, 4b) adapted to guide wires (6, 6a, 6b) being paid off, and reversing pulleys (8). This invention provides a mechanical device to balance the tension difference between multiple wires in the pay-off system to produce a steel cord with constant tension and satisfactory quality.

摘要： A welding apparatus for a controlled welding of steel cord ends. The welding apparatus allows for a controlled welding path from welding period over post-weld period to complete cool-down. In the welding apparatus a direct current source is controlled over time using a programmable controller. By sensing the voltage over the clamps of the welding apparatus and using this as a further input to the programmable controller, a constant power dissipation between the clamps can be achieved in the post-weld period. An associated method for making the weld where during the post-welding period the electric power dissipated between the clamps is held constant. The welds obtained by this procedure have a favourable metallographic structure in that the heat affected zone has more than 50% of pearlite and/or bainite over the total area of that zone.
