    • A method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for improving push-to-talk call setup speed by disabling an idle mode of a mobile station are provided. According to the method, a deregistration request is received from a mobile station. The base station determines whether a push-to-talk service flow exists for the mobile station, based upon a unique identifier for push-to-talk service flow for the mobile station. If the service flow does exist, then the base station transmits a deregistration command to the mobile station including an action code that instructs the mobile station to disable its idle mode and change its mobility feature supported field to sleep only mode. Since the time required to transition from sleep mode to active mode is less than from idle mode to sleep mode, the push-to-talk call setup speed is improved.

A network includes a push-to-application session controller that manages a push-to-application session between an application and a client. The network also includes a media controller, coupled to the session controller, that transfers media between the client and the application. The network further includes an application synchronizer, coupled to the session controller, that controls synchronization between media provided by the media controller to the client and data provided by the application to the client.

    • An apparatus, method and computer-readable medium for controlling dispatch voice communications between fleets in a network are provided. The apparatus includes a multi-fleet dispatch console configured to receive a request for a dispatch group call including dispatch stations in a plurality of fleets and to establish the dispatch group call based upon the request. The multi-fleet dispatch console has a higher priority than any other dispatch console in the network. According to the method, the multi-fleet dispatch console may also determine whether a requestor of the dispatch group call is authorized to establish the requested dispatch group call and output an authorization denial message, if the requestor is not authorized to establish the dispatch group call. Additionally, the multi-fleet dispatch console may drop unavailable dispatch stations from existing group calls, if a priority of the request exceeds a priority of the existing group calls.

    • A method and computer-readable medium for dynamically adjusting a multimedia data resolution in a wireless environment is provided. The method includes: determining the access profile of the mobile station; monitoring transmission conditions in the wireless system; transmitting the multimedia data and control signaling to the mobile station with a highest resolution based upon the transmission conditions, wherein the control signaling determines an amount of the multimedia data accessible to the mobile station based upon the access profile of the mobile station; and decreasing a resolution of the multimedia data being transmitted to the mobile station, if the transmission conditions become unacceptable for transmitting the multimedia data at the highest resolution. If the transmission conditions become acceptable for transmitting the multimedia data at a higher resolution, the resolution of the multimedia data being transmitted to the mobile station is increased to the highest possible resolution based upon the transmission conditions.
