    • A circuit contains a shared memory (12), that is used by a plurality of processing elements (10) that contain cache circuits (102) for caching data from the shared memory (12). The processing elements perform a plurality of cooperating tasks, each task involving caching data from the shared memory (12) and sending cache message traffic. Consistency between cached data for different tasks is maintained by transmission of cache coherence requests via a communication network. Information from cache coherence requests generated for all of said tasks is buffered. One of the processing elements provides an indication signal indicating a current task stage of at least one of the processing elements. Additional cache message traffic is generated adapted dependent on the indication signal and the buffered information from the cache coherence requests. Thus conditions of cache traffic stress may be created to verify operability of the circuit, or cache message traffic may be delayed to avoid stress.

    • A processing circuit has functional units (10a-c) configured to perform operations each in response to a respective command. The functional units (10a-c) are configured to execute at least one of the operations with a selectable level of susceptibility to incurring an error during execution. Different functional units may be provided, designed to execute the same operation with different levels of susceptibility at the cost of more circuit area, power consumption or execution time in the case of less susceptibility. The less susceptible functional unit may comprise additional error correction circuits, or more pipeline stages for example. The program directs commands to execute the operation to different functional units according to the required level of susceptibility. High level programs may be provided wherein variables are declared with a specified level of reliability. These declarations may be used during compilation to select how instructions will be executed.

    • A digital content distribution system uses a Digital Rights Management Controller that performs a set of arbitrary tests against the transfer request from one user to another such as user A to user B. Assuming these tests are successful, the DRM sends an encryption key to transferring user A. This encryption key E is taken from a table of encryption key/hash pairs which have been provided to the DRM Controller by an external authority such as the content rights holder. User A encrypts the content using they key provided by the DRM controller and then optionally calculates a hash over the encrypted form of the content E(X) and returns this value to the DRM Controller. On checking the returned hash against the hash from the table the DRM controller knows that user A does indeed have the digital content X in good condition. The DRM Controller then instructs both users A and B that the transfer may proceed. The encrypted form of the content E(X) is transferred from A to B. Once the content transfer has completed B ensures that the received content has been physically written to non-volatile storage (to account for crashes etc. during the next step). B then calculates a hash over the received content and returns this value to the DRM Controller. If this value matches the value previously given then the transfer has been successful and the DRM Controller updates whatever central records are appropriate, while also returning a decrypt key to B to allow it to decrypt the content.

    • A system and method of providing sequential video and contextual based content to an end user viewing video content in a video player on an end user computing device is provided. In one embodiment, the method comprises storing a plurality of videos in a memory, storing a plurality of advertisements in a memory, receiving a plurality of requests from a plurality of different clients and wherein each request includes information identifying a first video and each of the plurality of clients initiates its request from one of a plurality of web pages and wherein the plurality of web pages form part of a plurality of different web sites. In addition, the plurality of web pages may include program code configured to cause a video to be presented in the video player. The method further comprises for each received request, selecting a plurality of videos based on information of the first video; and selecting a plurality of advertisements, wherein at least one of the plurality of advertisements is selected based on information of the first video and at least one of the plurality of advertisements is selected based on information of a selected video. In addition, the method may comprise for each received request, transmitting the plurality of videos to the requesting client for sequential presentation by the client; and transmitting the plurality of advertisements to the requesting client and wherein at least some of the plurality of advertisements are configured to be presented concurrently with a received video.
