    • The components forming the layers of a composite pipe are successively introduced into a rotary drum (1). Initially, a plastic reinforcing lyaer (8), including a fiber reinforcement, is introduced into the drum, the ends of the drum (1) being bounded by rings. A concrete core layer (16) is then introduced and the length of the core layer (16) is shortened relative to that of the drum (1) by shaping rings fixed to the drum ends. The shaping rings are then replaced by other shaping rings (20, 21) so that, on either side of the core layer (16), two annular spaces (22, 23) are formed which are filled by a socket material (24, 25) of the same composite as the reinforcing layer (8). Thus, at one pipe end a socket end (28) is formed and at the other pipe end a spigot end (30) is formed, each such end being located within the composite pipe wall thickness. After introducing a second reinforcing layer (26), the production of the composite pipe is completed. By producing the socket connecting elements (28, 30) simultaneously with the construction of the composite pipe, a reliable and rational production of the composite pipe with its socket connecting elements (28, 30) is achieved. By shaping a shoulder (33) on the spigot end (30), when sliding together two composite pipes, the socket end (28) is centered. Simultaneously, an annular space (34) is formed, in which can be inserted an elastic seal (35) for drip-tight sealing.

    • A mould arrangement for shaft rings or the like in which the hat-shaped mould core comprises a core segment consisting of a cover portion with, adjacent thereto, a wall portion which is adapted for displacement horizontally into a closed position completing the shaped contours of the mould core and inwardly into a release position for removal of the form work. The mould core has a fit-in device for the cementing in of projecting elements, above all climbing irons, from the interior into the concrete part which is to be formed and during the shaping process. In addition to the core segment, the fitting-in device has for each climbing iron a housing, a clamping device associated therewith, and a clamping drive common to all these. Together with these parts, the core segment is detachably and exchangeably so mounted on the remainder of the mould core that it can be coupled to or uncoupled from the horizontal translatory drive. Thus, while retaining the rest of the mould core, the core segment can be exchanged for a different one. As a result the investment costs for individual mould cores are substantially reduced.

    • An apparatus is disclosed for centering a reinforcing mesh which is in a pipe or conduit form for manufacturing reinforced concrete pipe or conduit. In order to automatically center the reinforcing mesh in a simple and reliable fashion, a plurality of mesh centering units are provided which are distributed at spaced intervals around the perimeter of the form. Each of these units comprises at least one radially outwardly extending member which penetrates through a receiving slot into the form to a depth which is adjustable depending on the external diameter of the reinforcing mesh. When the concrete introduced into the form is compacted, the member can be retracted to an inactive position from the operating position, in which it biases against the centered mesh.

    • Concrete pipe including a hollow tube of concrete with a grid of reinforcing bars embedded therein. A plurality of inserts are embedded in the concrete pipe in between the bars of the grid and have passageways therethrough to form slots between the interior of the concrete pipe and the exterior thereof at predetermined locations to form slotted concrete pipe. The inserts are attached to the grid of reinforcing bars during formation of the pipe and the concrete is introduced to surround the grid and inserts and is permitted to set. Thereafter, the formed concrete pipe contains embedded reinforcing bars and inserts in predetermined locations resulting in a slotted reinforced concrete pipe.

    • A method of mounting steps on the inner wall surface of a manhole section comprising implanting the steps in the section while the same is still green and following removal of the inner form but before removal of the outer form, positioning each step in confronting relation with the manhole section and thereupon smoothly and uniformly, without vibration and hammering, pushing the step into the concrete and compacting the concrete around the implanted step. The apparatus may be portable and shifted into the manhole section through an end thereof after the inner form has been removed but prior to removal of the outer form, and positioned against the base ring at opposite inside diameters thereof and engaging the outer form at the top of the manhole section and while thus engaged urging the step into the manhole section as aforesaid. Alternatively the apparatus may be stationary and the manhole section temporarily moved thereto and supported thereon during step implanting.
