摘要： A control strategy includes: after an engine is energized, the continuously variable valve lift mechanism self learning to determine a current position; if the self learning is successful, the continuously variable valve lift mechanism being located at a maximum lift position, preparing for starting the engine, and determining a regulating mode based on a starting temperature, wherein at the time of normal temperature start, regulation is performed from the maximum lift position to a minimum lift position, and at the time of low temperature start, regulation is performed from the maximum lift position to a position where the two valves for the same cylinder have a maximum lift difference; if the self learning fails, entering a preliminary start mode; entering a CVVL control mode based on an operation condition of the engine; and powering off the engine.

摘要： In a control device for an engine, the engine includes combustion chambers, ports connected to the combustion chambers, and valves that open and close areas between the combustion chambers and the ports. The control device includes an electronic control unit that is configured to execute an anti-freezing operation of performing control to fully close the valves or make the valves be in a state of being opened with a lift amount of 1 mm or more, in a case where temperatures around the valves are lowered to a predetermined temperature range after the engine is stopped, or in a case where an outside air temperature when the engine is stopped is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature. The predetermined temperature range is a temperature range in which an upper limit value is lower than 10° C., and the predetermined temperature is lower than 5° C.

摘要： A method and device for determining a value for a valve lift of a valve of an individual cylinder of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine are provided. The method includes determining a first exhaust-gas lambda value for fuel combustion in the individual cylinder in a first operating state of the engine by a cylinder-individual and time-resolved detection of lambda values without an artificial variation in an air/fuel ratio. The method also includes determining an air mass sucked in by all cylinders of the engine in the first operating state. The method also includes determining the value for the valve lift of the valve of the individual cylinder based on the first exhaust-gas lambda value, the determined air mass, and a correction value, wherein the correction value is based on a relationship between the valve lift and an associated air mass sucked in by all cylinders of the engine.

The valve control module controls a valve actuator to actuate a valve of an engine from a first lift position to a second lift position that is different from the first lift position. The valve includes at least one of an intake valve and an exhaust valve. The fault detection module detects a fault in at least one of a valve lift sensor and the valve actuator based on input received from the valve lift sensor when the valve is adjusted to the first lift position and when the valve is adjusted to the second lift position.
