    • In the present invention, dislodging of a belt is prevented even when there is slack in a fastening member that secures a movement-side pulley for adjusting an inter-axial distance. An adjustment mechanism that adjusts an inter-axial distance between a first pulley and a second pulley is provided with a support member to which the first pulley is provided, first and second long holes provided in an arm part body, first bolts that are inserted into the first long holes and that fasten the support member to the arm part body, and second bolts that are inserted into the second long holes and that fasten the support member to the arm part body. The first long holes have a first length that enables the support member to move toward the second pulley until the inter-axial distance reaches a distance at which the belt can be wound between the first and second pulleys. The second long holes have a second length that retains the inter-axial distance at a distance such that the state in which the belt is wound between the first and second pulleys is not dislodged.

    • In order to provide a belt drive for a motor-driven tool with a first, drive-side belt pulley, a second, tool-side belt pulley and a belt that can be tensioned over the first and the second belt pulley, that is characterized by being easier to use, it is proposed that a cam, rigidly connected with a shaft, is arranged in the first or second belt pulley, whereby during a rotational movement of the shaft the belt pulley can be moved from an eccentric arrangement in relation to the shaft into a concentric arrangement by way of a translational movement and a rotational movement of the belt pulley.

    • A chain tensioning device is basically provided with a main body, a chain guide and a rotary fluid damper unit. The main body is configured to be mounted to a bicycle. The chain guide is pivotally coupled to the main body to rotate around a rotational axis with respect to the main body. The rotary fluid damper unit is operatively connected between the main body and the chain guide to provide rotational resistance to the chain guide around the rotational axis.     • A fixed or adjustable chain guide includes a captured shoulder bolt fastener. An adjustable chain guide such as a chain tensioner arm assembly includes a tensioner arm with a pivot bore defined about a pivot axis. The pivot bore includes an inner end opening through a rear face of the tensioner arm and an outer end opening through a front face of the tensioner arm. The tensioner arm further includes at least one resilient fastener retaining tab located adjacent the pivot bore. The shoulder bolt extends through the pivot bore and is engaged by the at least one resilient fastener retaining tab, and the at least one fastener retaining tab inhibits separation of the fastener from the tensioner arm. The fastener preferably includes an annular groove or other recess to be engaged by the one or more fastener retaining tabs in order to permit the tensioner arm to rotate relative to the fastener. New shoulder bolt fasteners are also defined, each including a shoulder region having at least one retaining feature such as an annular groove adapted to be engaged by a projecting portion of an associated component for axially capturing the fastener to the associated component while permitting rotation of the associated component relative to the fastener.

    • A novel tensioner for use with flexible drives, such as serpentine accessory belts on automobiles includes a tensioner arm to spindle pivot design which employs a frustoconical bushing between an inner pivot surface of the tensioner arm and a spindle shaft. The frustoconical design of the bushing resists off axis movement of the tensioner arm and a wear take up mechanism biases the bushing into contact with the inner pivot surface to compensate for normal wear of the bushing and/or pivot surface. A thrust plate is mounted to the end of the spindle shaft and rides in a thrust washer, the thrust plate and thrust washer being held captive in the tensioner arm such that the tensioner arm can pivot about the bushing and the spindle and the thrust plate and thrust washer assist in inhibiting off-axis movement of the tensioner arm. In one embodiment, the biasing force which biases the bushing against the inner pivot surface of the tensioner arm can be varied to change the amount of dampening of the tensioner.
