    • A heat transfer apparatus for heating and cooling a room includes a heat exchanger including a body with tubing and fins traversed by a heat transfer fluid, the heat exchanger including a first module and a second module. A plurality of helical fans downstream from the heat exchanger have axes of rotation passing between the first and second modules. A plate for storing heat is downstream from the plurality of helical fans is present. Each of the axes of rotation pass through the plate, and the plate and frame together define an air outlet configured to expel air from the apparatus in a direction parallel to the rotation axes, and define an air passage parallel to the plate from the helical fans to the air outlet, and wherein the apparatus defines an air inlet configured to draw air in a direction traverse to the rotation axes.

    • A hydronic radiant flooring heating system includes a pipe having pipe sections, and a grid of a thermally conductive material. The pipe sections are arranged substantially parallel to one another along a first axis, where there is a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The pipe is to carry a heated liquid to radiantly heat a flooring under which the pipe is situated. The grid is situated relative to the sections. A portion of the grid is positioned substantially parallel to the second axis, and has an increased gauge to provide for lateral heat flow from the sections along the second axis. Heating of the flooring under which the pipe and the grid are situated is substantially uniform at least partially due to the increased gauge of the portion of the grid positioned substantially parallel to the second axis, while permitting wider spacing between adjacent of the pipe sections.

    • The invention provides a method and a system for controlling floor heating or climate regulating systems with long time constants. According to the invention, a flow of a fluid is provided through the floor or through a similar medium with large thermal inertia. An induced heat is determined by adding up a plurality of differences between an inlet temperature of the fluid when it enters the medium and an outlet temperature of the fluid when it leaves the medium. The temperatures are sampled with a fixed sampling time and within a fixed period of time, and a corresponding change in temperature of the medium over the fixed period of time is determined. In the future, the temperature of that medium is controlled by use of a ratio between the induced heat and the change in temperature.
