    • An energy consumption meter includes a first input for providing a first input signal derived from a voltage, a first analog-to-digital (A/D) converter electrically connected to the first input to generate a first output signal based on the first input signal, a second input for providing a second input signal derived from a current, a second A/D converter electrically connected to the second input to generate a second output signal based on the second input signal, a multiplier to combine signals corresponding to the first and second output signals, and a phase evaluation block having two inputs that are electrically connected to the first input and to the second input. The phase evaluation block measures a phase difference that corresponds to a phase difference between the first input signal and the second input signal. A phase correction block corrects for the phase difference in one of the first output signal and the second output signal.

    • A power measuring apparatus including a voltage transformer, a voltage-current measuring circuit, and an operation unit is provided. The voltage transformer converts an input voltage signal into an output voltage signal. The voltage-current measuring circuit includes an inductor, a first resistor, a first capacitor and a second capacitor. A first end of the first inductor herein receives the output voltage signal and a second end thereof generates a voltage feedback signal. The operation unit performs an operation on the voltage feedback signal and a terminal current signal between the first terminal and the second terminal of the first capacitor so as to calculate a power signal. In this way, the accuracy of thermal test is effectively increased by the presented invention.

    • An assembly includes a power supply and a meter. The power supply has a cable with a plurality of pins providing different voltages to a corresponding plurality of receiving pins. Each pin is connected to one of the receiving pins by a resistor of known value. The meter measures voltages of all of the resistors and all of the receiving pins simultaneously. Current passing through each of the resistors is calculated as a quotient of a voltage measured across each resistor and the known value of the resistor. Power delivered to each receiving pin is calculated as a product of the calculated current through the corresponding resistor and a voltage measured at the receiving pin with respect to ground. The total output power of the power supply is the sum of the powers calculated for each of the receiving pins.

    • An electricity meter for monitoring electric power consumed from a service line is disclosed. The electricity meter includes a power consumption metering system for measuring the amount of power consumed from the service line, a peripheral device providing a non-critical function, a power converter, and a load management system. The metering system includes a controller and data storage for storing power consumption data. The power converter provides an unregulated voltage output at the terminals of a capacitor for powering the metering system. The load management system selectively couples and decouples the peripheral device from the power converter. The load management system senses the unregulated voltage to determine whether to couple or decouple the peripheral device. A load management system for an electricity meter and a method of managing the loads on the power system of an electricity meter are also disclosed.
