摘要： Disclosed is a low dropout linear voltage regulator and a control circuit thereof. The control circuit includes an error amplifier and a backflow prevention circuit, which compares an input voltage with an output voltage, to switch a substrate voltage and a voltage at a control terminal of the power transistor to a higher one of the input voltage and the output voltage, thus the power transistor and its parasitic diode can be turned off in time when the output voltage is greater than the input voltage, so as to prevent the power transistor from being damaged by current backflow and improve reliability of the low dropout linear regulator.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to a low-dropout regulator that limits a quiescent current. It mainly includes an error amplifier, an output switching transistor, a feedback switching transistor, a current duplicating circuit, and a clamping current source. The clamping current source is added between an input voltage and the feedback switching transistor, so that a feedback current outputted by the feedback switching transistor is clamped, and the highest value is only proportional to a current value of the clamping current source. In this way, the quiescent current outputted by the low-dropout regulator is no longer increasing indefinitely in proportional to a load current, which can effectively solve the technical problems of poor stability and decreased efficiency caused by the infinite increase of the quiescent current.

The control circuit is configured to produce an envelope of an input signal input to the amplifier in connection with the radio-frequency signal and to provide the produced envelope to at least one of the first linear regulator or the second linear regulator. The first linear regulator is configured to provide a third voltage corresponding to the envelope to the amplifier using the first voltage based on the envelope having a voltage in a first range. The second linear regulator is configured to provide a fourth voltage higher than the third voltage to the amplifier using the second voltage based on the voltage of the envelope being in a second range including values larger than values included in the first range.

Device circuitry is powered from the process control loop and monitors a process variable or controls a control device. A current regulator is in series with the loop terminals, and regulates a loop current. A first shunt voltage regulator regulates a voltage across the device circuitry. Supplemental circuitry is connected in series with the first shunt voltage regulator and the second loop terminal, and is powered by power from the two-wire process control loop shunted through the first shunt voltage regulator. A second shunt voltage regulator is connected in series with the first shunt voltage regulator and the second loop terminal, and in parallel with the supplemental circuitry, and regulates a voltage across the supplemental circuitry.
