摘要： An adjustable compensated nut system for a stringed musical instrument allows for improved intonation of each string of the instrument regardless of string gauge, desired tension, material, or construction. The adjustable compensated nut includes a seat which accepts one or more individual and interchangeable saddles featuring different intonation portions which have different dimensions which allow for achieving the desired pitch or intonation of each individual string of the instrument. Optimally, the number of intonation portions is equal to the number of strings of the instrument, and each particular intonation portion is dimensioned to improve the intonation of a particular string according to string tension and properties. Advantageously, the saddles of the nut are interchangeable and so that it is possible to adjust the degree of compensation to correspond with string choice.

摘要： Systems and methods are provided performing autonomous tuning of a stringed instrument. Images of the stringed instrument are acquired by at least two cameras and processed to identify the location of a peg. A robotic peg actuator is then engaged to actuate rotation of a peg in order to rotate the peg to a tuned angular orientation, guided by feedback generated by processing acoustic signals recorded by an acoustic transducer while a string associated with the peg is agitated. In some example implementations, the cameras and peg actuator are rigidly mounted to a frame that is configured to support the stringed instrument during peg imaging and actuation. A robotic string actuator may be provided to facilitate vibration of the string during the tuning process. Multiple robotic peg actuators may be included for per-peg rotational actuation and/or a given peg actuator may be robotically translatable to actuate more than one peg.

摘要： Disclosed is a locking tool for guitar strings and associated use methods. One embodiment provides a string locking device having a base affixed to a neck of the guitar. The base includes a compression bed bordered by proximal and distal sets of string channels, where the strings enter through the proximal channels, extend across the compression bed, and exit through the distal channels. The locking device also includes a press that is rotatively coupled to the base and a fastening mechanism configured to secure the press in a closed position relative to the base. The press may pivot between an open position in which the press is offset from the base and a closed position in which the press is secured against the compression bed such that the strings are secured between the press and the compression bed, preventing the strings from detuning during play.
