The broadcast receiver receives a broadcast wave of a digital broadcast service, controls an operation including activation and end of an application that is in cooperation with a broadcast program based on application-related information, and selects control relating to reactivation of the application based on a user's operation. If activation of the application is requested after the end of the application, the broadcast receiver controls the reactivation or non-reactivation of the application in accordance with the selection of control by the user.

摘要： A system for wirelessly transmitting and receiving customized data broadcasts comprising at least one computer apparatus running an application for customized data broadcasts. The computer apparatus uses the application to transmit and/or receive at least one broadcast. The system is further comprised of a server network infrastructure with: the application, at least one application server, at least one web server; and at least one database/information server. The infrastructure, servers, and application comprise a distributed computing environment in a secure server network model wherein the environment utilizes the application as a secure communicator of the broadcasts, thereby enabling secure communication of the broadcasts between any computer apparatus running the application. The application strengthens standard broadcast security by communicating the broadcast via the distributed computing environment in a secure server network model comprised of proprietary software, a proprietary number of loops per broadcast transmission, and proprietary encoding and decoding protocols.

摘要： A method for recording multiple pieces of content with a single tuner. A content delivery network can include multiple channels organized into bands with several channels per band. These bands can be transmitted on an up-link such as to a satellite. The bands can be relayed to receivers at the end user locations. The end user receivers can tune to one, two, or some other fraction of the total number of transmitted bands. When a user selects a program to view and/or record, a tuner of the receiver tunes to the band that includes the channel that includes the program. The method prompts the user regarding the other channels that form the set of channels on that band, and solicits input for recording one or more concurrent programs of the band, which can all be recorded on the single receiving tuner.

摘要： A wireless receiver, in the form of a mobile telephone, includes a DAB receiver and a GSM/GPRS transceiver which enables bi-directional point-to-point data communications via a service provider. The DAB receiver is arranged to receive media data from an over-the-air broadcast channel, the media data primarily representing television and radio streams. In order that the streams can be decoded and decrypted by media playing software on the wireless receiver, a provisioning operation is employed to provide NSC header files and DRM licenses to users in response to them making content requests. The header files and licenses are sent over a separate data channel and in advance of the broadcast content.

The PBS authenticates a mobile device within range for cellular services, and authenticates the user for a level of service for cable television.
