    • Provided is an image processing device which enables image display that takes full advantage of a color reproduction performance of a panel without providing a viewer with a feeling of strangeness. An image processing device includes: a color gamut conversion processor configured to convert inputted data into RGB data according to a liquid crystal panel; a weighting factor calculator configured to calculate a weighting factor; a first post-color-gamut-conversion data weighting processor configured to perform weighting processing to the RGB data; an inputted data weighting processor configured to perform weighting processing to the inputted data; and an output adder configured to add data after the weighting processing to generate RGB data to be supplied to the liquid crystal panel. The weighting factor calculator obtains the weighting factor based on a positional relation among a chromaticity coordinate on an xy chromaticity diagram, a color reproduction range for the inputted data, and a boundary line defined so as to include memory colors.

    • A method and circuitry for processing a video signal corresponding to a source synchronous video broadcast which corresponds to a selected channel which is one of a plurality of channels of a broadcast spectrum. In one aspect, the method includes generating digitized data of the video signal, which corresponds to the source synchronous video broadcast, using a local clock signal having a frequency which is different from the frequency of the source clock of the video broadcast; generating video data using the digitized data of the video signal; generating formatted video data blocks by arranging the video data into one or more lines or frames of video data; generating temporal reference signals wherein each temporal reference signal is associated with at least one formatted video data block. The video processing device, in one aspect, includes circuitry to convert the video signal of the source synchronous video broadcast to a baseband video signal; clock generation circuitry to generate a local clock signal; processing circuitry to: (i) asynchronously, with respect to the source clock, digitize the baseband video signal using the local clock signal, wherein the local clock signal includes a frequency which is different from the frequency of the source clock, and (ii) generate video data using the digitized data which corresponds to the video signal of the broadcast; and output format circuitry to generate formatted video data blocks by arranging the video data into one or more lines or frames of video data.

    • A source terminal to output audio and video data to an external output device acquires and stores connection information during a connection to the external output device, in which the connection information may be stored for a future connection to the same external output device. Also, the source device may configure audio and video data to be transmitted to the external output device using the stored connection information, and transmit the configured audio and video data to the external output device. A method for connecting to the external output device includes detecting a connection between a source terminal and an external output device, determining whether connection information of the external output device is stored in the source terminal, retrieving connection information of the external output device, configuring audio and video data for the external output device using the connection information, and transmitting the configured data to the external output device.

An equalizer circuit is further included in the apparatus for adaptively equalizing the output signals of the signal converter or the output signals of the signal level corrector. The quadrature-modulated signal is inputted via a coaxial cable, and the above predetermined value of the phase difference is an angle of 45 degrees.
