摘要： In one embodiment, a method receives a downstream signal and an upstream signal in a same frequency band. The downstream signal and the upstream signal are separated into a first path and a second path. The downstream signal using the first path and the upstream signal using the second path are amplified in an analog domain. The method isolates the downstream signal and the upstream signal from one another and sends the downstream signal downstream to a subscriber device and sends the upstream signal towards a full duplex node.

摘要： A monolithic integrated circuit (IC), and method of manufacturing same, that includes all RF front end or transceiver elements for a portable communication device, including a power amplifier (PA), a matching, coupling and filtering network, and an antenna switch to couple the conditioned PA signal to an antenna. An output signal sensor senses at least a voltage amplitude of the signal switched by the antenna switch, and signals a PA control circuit to limit PA output power in response to excessive values of sensed output. Stacks of multiple FETs in series to operate as a switching device may be used for implementation of the RF front end, and the method and apparatus of such stacks are claimed as subcombinations. An iClass PA architecture is described that dissipatively terminates unwanted harmonics of the PA output signal. A preferred embodiment of the RF transceiver IC includes two distinct PA circuits, two distinct receive signal amplifier circuits, and a four-way antenna switch to selectably couple a single antenna connection to any one of the four circuits.

摘要： A communication system includes a digital data processor that produces a digital data sample and one or more control bits. A serialized transmit interface assembles the digital data sample and the control bit(s) into first and second data packets of a data frame, and sends the data frame over a signal line. A serialized receive interface receives the data frame and produces a reconstructed digital data sample and the control bit(s) from the first and second data packets. A control circuit coupled to the serialized receive interface produces a control signal from the control bit(s). The communication system may include a converter circuit, which produces an RF input signal by performing a digital-to-analog conversion of the reconstructed digital data sample, and by upconverting the resulting analog data sample signal to RF. A power amplifier amplifies the RF input signal and modifies operation of a sub-circuit based on the control signal.

摘要： A TX/RX switch includes a power amplifier (PA), a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), and an antenna connection. The PA is connected to a PA matching network that has a PA network impedance and a common PA-LNA impedance connected in one or more series-parallel combinations in different embodiments in a transmitting mode. The LNA is connected to a LNA matching network that has a LNA. network impedance and the same common PA-LNA impedance connected in one or more series-parallel combinations in a receive mode. A mode switch can connect the common PA-LNA impedance in different configurations to enable the transmitting and receiving mode respectively. In some embodiments, the mode switch can short or open circuit the connection of the PA matching circuit or the LNA matching circuit to the antenna. In some embodiments, the mode switch can also turn power on or off to the PA or the LNA when the switch is in a mode where the respective amplifier is not selected. Accordingly, with specific design limitations on the common PA-LNA impedance combined with different mode switch configurations of the TX/RX switch components in either the TX or RX mode, the TX/RX switch operates within a design bandwidth without, transmission lines embedded in the TX/RX switch circuitry and provides optimum power transfer from/to the antenna at the antenna connection with reduced noise.

摘要： Embodiments disclosed herein relate to reducing insertion loss in a transceiver while improving an operating efficiency of the transceiver. To do so, the transceiver may include isolation circuitry with harmonic distortion rejection circuitry, an electrostatic discharge filter, an out-of-band noise filter, and/or a matching network. In particular, the harmonic distortion rejection circuitry may enable a second harmonic signal to pass from a power amplifier of a transmitter of the transceiver to ground. The electrostatic discharge filter may also provide a path to ground for electrostatic discharge, and the out-of-band noise filter may provide a path to ground for noise signals. The isolation circuitry may substantially remove or decrease interference caused by undesirable signals while reducing a power consumption and thus improving an operating efficiency of the transceiver.

摘要： A circuit arrangement for amplifying radio signals between a terminal device and an antenna and to a corresponding circuit arrangement is disclosed. The circuit arrangement has a transmission amplifier path and a reception amplifier path. A signal power in a first frequency range in the transmitting direction is detected to determine a transmitted signal power and a signal power in a second frequency range in the receiving direction is detected to determine a received signal power. The detected transmitted signal power can be compared with the detected received signal power. If the detected transmitted signal power is stronger than the detected received signal power, the transmission amplifier path can amplify transmitted signals in the first frequency range. If the detected received signal power is stronger than the detected transmitted signal power, the reception amplifier path can amplify received signals in the second frequency range.
