摘要： A strapping apparatus (10) for packages (16) has a frame-like strapping channel which is composed of an upper and a lower channel section (19) which are connected by way of a first and a second vertical section (18, 20). A first diverting device connects (21) the first vertical section to the lower channel section, and a second diverting device (22) connects the lower channel section to the second vertical section. A bayonet (24) which can be inserted along a movement path alternative to the lower channel section (19) into the strapping channel, in which the insertion movement is directed from the first to the second diverting device. The first diverting device is mounted on a pivot axle (27) by means of which the first diverting device can be moved from a normal position, which connects the first vertical section and the lower channel section, into a deflected position, in which the connection is eliminated. A guide element is arranged on that end of the bayonet which is averted from the bayonet tip, which guide element connects the first vertical section to a channel section formed by the bayonet.

摘要： A method for containing a bale of compressed material without straps or wires in a bag, the bale having recessed regions therein, includes receiving the bale of compressed material in a conveyor having a mobile portion and a load carriage. The bag has reinforced regions. The load carriage has multiple tines for supporting the bale of compressed material. The tines engage the bale at at least some of the recessed regions. The bale is transferred into a bagger configured to receive the bale and move the bale from an entrance to a discharge and bagging mandrel. The bale is introduced into the bag such that at least some of the reinforced regions of the bag correspond to the recessed regions of the bale. A reinforced bag for containing a bale of compressed material without straps or wires is also disclosed.

In certain embodiments, the strap dispensers include a static dispenser frame and a coil carriage that supports a strap coil and that is movable relative to the dispenser frame between a strap-dispensing position and an extended position. In the strap-dispensing position, the strap dispenser can dispense strap from the strap coil. In the extended position, the strap coil is positioned clear of the dispenser frame and any adjacent dispensers to enable easy strap-coil replacement. In various embodiments, the strap dispensers include a quick-release retainer that retains the strap coil in place on the coil carriage while being quickly and easily removable for coil changes.

A controller controls the flow of water and the flow of a wax solution from separate sources into a blender that blends the water and the wax solution into a blended solution. An applicator applies the blended solution to a workpiece that is then longitudinally slit and wound into coils of (waxed) strap. A sensor periodically analyzes the blended solution and sends signals to the controller, which determines the concentration of wax in the blended solution and causes a display device to display the concentration of wax in the blended solution to enable an operator to monitor the concentration of wax in the blended solution.
