摘要： A rotational device is provided that reorients a container from a first orientation to a second orientation in a manufacturing line and receives and reorients containers with different dimensions. The rotational device has an enclosed passageway defined by four continuous, turning surfaces that contribute to the ability of the rotational device to receive and reorient containers with different dimensions. In one embodiment, the passageway of the rotational device rotates 90 degrees in a clockwise manner. The bottoms of the different sized container are aligned with a right edge of an entrance of the passageway that corresponds to a surface that turns and defines the bottom edge of an exit of the passageway. Thus, the rotational device can receive containers with different dimensions while reduces the movement or jostling of the containers within the passageway.

More specifically, the present invention relates to a method used to perform high speed operation on a continuous sheet of stock material. The continuous sheet of stock material can subsequently be received by a second system that performs a different operation. The system can include an infeed accumulation device and an outfeed accumulation device, that enables the system to operate at a variable rate and out of phase with a high speed, coil fed manufacturing system to which the system may be removably integrated. The system can determine if the operation has been performed at a predetermined location of a portion of the continuous sheet.

More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus and methods used to form a metallic cup with a reformed bottom having an inwardly oriented projection. The inwardly oriented projection reduces a height of the metallic cup but utilizes the same amount of metallic stock material as a taller cup with substantially the same diameter that does not have an inward projection. The metallic cup can be redrawn by a method and apparatus of the present invention to form a metallic cup with an extended sidewall. The metallic cup with the extended sidewall can be converted into a container body of a preferred size and shape.
