摘要	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable gas lamp capable of safely changing a mantle and easily controlling a gas flow for ignition. SOLUTION: This gas lamp comprises a conduit 2 and a burner 3 next each other above an upper part of a tank 1, and has a gas hole for ignition formed at a fore end circumferential wall of the conduit 2. An enveloping body 7 is mounted to envelope the gas hole. Gas is introduced to the burner 3 from the tank 1 via the conduit 2, then the gas spouted from the gas hole and diffused around the enveloping body 7 is ignited, and using this as a pilot, the burner 3 catches fire. In this case, the enveloping body 7 is used as a coil, and the coil winding crosses the gas hole. Burrs do not protrude from the enveloping body 7 as may happen with a wire gauze, and therefore a fingerprint will not be hurt. Furthermore, by expanding and contracting the coil of the enveloping body 7, a gas flow for ignition can be easily controlled.
