The invention provides a side vibration compactor, which is suitable to be used for vibration air exhaust in a powder material packing process. The invention aims to solves the problem that the a vibration compacting mechanism in a powder packing environment leads to low reliability and short service life due to the influences of dust. The compactor consists of a box body, a parallel four-link type vibrating mechanism, an eccentric shaft type vibration exciting mechanism and a lifting mechanism, wherein the parallel four-link type vibrating mechanism comprises an upper link, a lower link, vertical links and a suspension arm vibrating frame; the lifting mechanism comprises a lifting air cylinder and a swing arm; the eccentric shaft type vibration exciting mechanism comprises a motor, an eccentric shaft and a swing rod; the box body has a rectangular structure; and the bottom of the box body is provided with a rubber vibration isolating block. Due to the parallel four-link type vibrating mechanism and a suspension arm type vibration supporting plate, the action of whole vibration compactor avoid generating dust in a vibration air exhaust process, so the vibration compactor is free from the influences of dust, and achieves greatly improved reliability of the actions and prolonged service life.
