The invention discloses a rotary type program switch, which comprises a base, a fixed pin unit fixed on the base, a movable contact block arranged in an accommodating tank of the base and provided with a plurality of movable contact pins, a fixed block arranged on the movable contact block, a waterproof gasket arranged on the base, a knob arranged on the base and capable of pressing the movable contact pins through a plurality of pressing contact blocks to be variably contacted with a plurality of fixed pins of the fixed pin unit, and a top cover covering on the top side of the knob and combined with the base. The knob comprises a pressure ring, the pressure ring is provided with a connecting ring surface, and the connecting ring surface is provided with a flat ring part and a bevel ring part. The top cover is provided with a top plate, two wing plates bending towards the bottom end from the top plate, and two grooves arranged on the wing plates to form two tongue plates, wherein each tongue plate is provided with a resisting part resisting against the bevel ring part respectively. Thus, the rotary type program switch has the characteristic of improving the usage quality.
