The invention relates to a button locating device used on a sewing machine. The button locating device comprises a supporting block and a fixing block, wherein the supporting block is arranged on a tabletop of the sewing machine and below a presser foot of the sewing machine, and comprises a clamping part which is capable of clamping a body part of a button; the fixing block is connected with a connecting strip which is rotationally arranged on a machine frame of the sewing machine; and when the body part of the button is clamped in the clamping part, the fixing block places the head part of the button to be propped against the supporting block, and a needle hole in the body part of the button is right below the needle of the sewing machine. With the adoption of the locating device, the problem that in the prior art, a targeted button can not be fixed stably when being sewed is solved; and the button locating device is simple in structure, convenient to operate, and capable of effectively improving the working efficiency in a sewing process.
