The invention relates to the field of preparation of organic matters, and in particular relates to a method for preparing levoglucose ketone by catalytic pyrolysis of a biomass. The method comprises the following steps: by taking zinc chloride sludge carbon as a catalyst, carrying out pyrolysis at 270-400 DEG C under an anaerobic condition by mixing the catalyst with the biomass mechanically; and collecting a condensed liquid to obtain a liquid product rich in levoglucose ketone. According to the method provided by the invention, the catalyst and the biomass raw materials are low in price, easily available and free from corrosion to pyrolysis equipment, so that the production cost is relatively lower. In addition, the zinc chloride sludge catalyst is stable in performance and can be recycled for times.
