A speed control method of all-electric vehicle top-mounted equipment includes the steps: when an all-electric vehicle operates in a top-mounted equipment mode, a power takeoff engages a gear, and a gear signal of a speed control switch for regulating target speed of a drive motor is received; whether or not voltage corresponding to the gear signal outputted by the speed control switch is normal is judged; if yes, the drive motor operates at the target speed matching with the gear of the speed control switch until the top-mounted equipment finishes operating; if not, the drive motor is shut down. The invention further discloses the all-electric vehicle employing the method. The speed of the drive motor and that of the power takeoff can be regulated through the speed control switch, one all-electric vehicle chassis can adapt to different top-mounted devices and accordingly can adapt to special vehicles for different purposes, the requirement for platform development of vehicles is met, and the operation requirement of special vehicles which operate with complexity can be well met.
