The invention discloses an electric gantry platform for installing sintering machine head equipment and an application method thereof. The application method comprises the following steps: (1) examining sintering machine head skeleton basic equipment and paving a temporary track to the inner of the sintering machine head; (2) manufacturing an electric gantry platform with a chain block according to the equipment to be hoisted in the sintering machine head and hoisting the electric gantry platform to the temporary track; (3) using the electric gantry platform with a chain block to hoist the skeletons in the lower layer of the head to the designated positions; (4) using a workshop crane to lift a main wheel from a hoist hole, placing the main wheel on a trolley, moving the electric gantry platform to the main wheel position, adjusting the hanging position of the chain block according to the central line of the sintering machine and the lifting-point position of the main wheel, lifting the main wheel, moving the electric gantry platform to the installation position of the main wheel, loosening the chain block at the same time, and installing the main wheel to a designated position. The platform and method have the advantages of short installation period, little safety hazard, low cost, and easily-guaranteed quality and safety.
