The invention discloses pet food containing sweet potatoes. Animal protein sources are used as raw materials, and the pet food is prepared from different components through a certain process. The sweet potatoes are applied to the pet food, can supplement pets with nutrition, are beneficial to pet growth and enable hairs of pets to keep glossy. The sweet potatoes are soft and carrageenan is added, so that the pets can chew the pet food conveniently. Maltodextrin and sodium chloride are used for seasoning. In addition, the invention further discloses a preparation method for the pet food.
