The invention relates to melt grafting modified polypropylene and belongs to the technical field of high polymer material modification. The modified polypropylene is prepared from, by weight parts, 100 parts of polypropylene, 1-4 parts of nano diamond alkene and 0.1-0.3 part of dicumyl peroxide. A method for preparing the melt grafting modified polypropylene comprises the following steps: 1) mixing polypropylene, nano diamond alkene and dicumyl peroxide in proportion; 2) performing reactive extrusion, bracing and granulation on a twin-screw extruder, and performing vacuum drying. The invention further provides application of the melt grafting modified polypropylene serving as a compatibilizer to be added into a polypropylene composite material. Nanometer diamond alkene grafting PP is adopted, and the cost can be effectively reduced while the flame resistance and compatibility of the material are greatly improved. A process for preparing the melt grafting modified polypropylene is simple, and the nano diamond alkene grafting PP can be finished merely by means of the twin-screw extruder.
