The invention relates to the field of leather processing reagents, and provides a leather tanning agent and a preparing method thereof. The problems that in the prior art, a leather tanning agent is not environment-friendly, the tanning effect is poor, and the preparing method is complex are solved. The leather tanning agent comprises following raw materials including, by weight, 10-15 parts of oxidized graphene, 90-110 parts of modified starch, 50-65 parts of (3-aminopropyl)-trimethoxysilane and 30-40 parts of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene.
