The invention discloses a lamellar high-strength light titanium-aluminum composite plate and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of preparation and machining of lamellar composite materials. The composite plate is composed of an LY12 aluminum alloy base layer and a TA18 titanium alloy coating layer, and the thickness ratio between the TA18 layer and the LY12 layer is 1:2. The preparation method for the lamellar titanium-aluminum composite plate includes the following steps of (1) selection of raw materials, (2) surface treatment of the raw materials, (3) explosive welding, (4) softening annealing, (5) cold rolling machining and (6) heat treatment and leveling. The lamellar high-strength light TA18/LY12 titanium-aluminum composite plate prepared in the invention is good in mechanical performance and can be actually applied in the fields of aviation and aerospace equipment, weaponry and the like.
