The invention discloses a method of generating WC on the surface of high purity wolfram and belongs to the technical field of chemical thermal treatment. The method specifically comprises the steps: preparing a high purity wolfram part and a carburizer; performing carburizing treatment on the high purity wolfram part after surface treatment and the carburizer which is fed; performing high vacuum carburizing, wherein the vacuum degree is less than 10<-2>Pa, and the carburizing temperature is 1600-1800 DEG C; and preserving the temperature 3-4 hours; then introducing about 1000Pa high purity argon and performing furnace cooling to room temperature and taking out the mixture; and finally, performing inspection. The method disclosed by the invention can be used for generating a WC compound which is 7-15 [mu]m on the surface of high purity wolfram, so that the corrosion resistance of the metal wolfram is effectively improved.
