The invention discloses a thermal composite yarn, and belongs to the technical field of the textile industry. The thermal composite yarn comprises 120-200 D bamboo charcoal fiber yarns, 100-120 D soybean protein fiber yarns, 80-150 D milk fiber yarns, 40-50 D spandex fibers and 60-80 D thermal fiber yarns which are twisted to form the thermal composite yarn. The twist is 1000-1500 T/M. A method for preparing the thermal composite yarn includes 1) doubling, 2) twisting, 3) type approval and 4) coating. According to the technical scheme, the thermal composite yarn and the method have the advantages that processes for preparing the thermal composite yarn are simple and are low in hazard waste emission; fabrics prepared from the thermal composite yarn are soft, comfortable, thermal and close-fit and are high in moisture absorption and good in breathability, and the like.
