The invention discloses a preparation method of a nano tin-based intumescent flame retardant. The method comprises the following steps: ultrasonically dissolving a tin source, a surfactant and deionized water by a hydrothermal method, and adding nitrogen flame retardant dispersion into the solution; adding a soluble metal salt solution, carrying out a hydrothermal reaction at a temperature of 120-150 DEG C, taking out the precipitate, washing with deionized water and ethanol in sequence, and drying the washed product, thereby obtaining the nano tin-based intumescent flame retardant. The methoddisclosed by the invention is simple in preparation procedures, high in yield, low in energy consumption and mild in reaction conditions, has excellent development prospects, and can easily realize industrial production.
