The unit is composed of POS-PHY level 12 and MII interface switching module and Ethernet interface network processor module. The method is at the follows: 1) PPP data frame transmitted from POS physical layer chip is converted to be Ethernet frame by interface switching module; 2. Ethernet frame from the interface module is processed by the Ethernet interface network processor to divide it into cell net charge and to regenerate cell head being sent to exchange net according to processed packet address; 3 the cell stream from exchange net is reorganized for packet by the Ethernet processor andthen to send it to the interface module; and 4. Ethernet data packet is converted to PPP data frame by the interface switching module and to send it to POS physical layer.
