A novel water tap is mainly composed of a water valve inner pipe (1), a ball valve core (2), an outer sleeve pipe (3) and a running water pipe (4), wherein the ball valve core (2) is placed on a spherical valve seat (11) of the inner chamber of the water valve inner pipe (1), the water valve inner pipe (1) is sleeved with an outer sleeve pipe which can slide up and down on a smooth section (15) and can upwardly screw through outer threads (16) of the inner pipe wall, and the lower end of the outer sleeve pipe (3) is equipped with a valve core support bracket (35) to control open and close of the ball valve core (2). The novel water tap has simple structure, few components and low manufacturing cost, effectively resolves the problem of water running, water spraying, water dropping and water leaking of the water tap, and enables maintenance and repair to be simple and easy.
