    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for implementing image processing by using the processing capability of an arithmetic processing means with a high efficiency.

      SOLUTION: The monitoring system is configured by a management apparatus having (a) a plurality of imaging apparatuses each mounted with an event detecting apparatus, for executing at least one part of processing algorithm concerning detection of a monitoring event for a corresponding picked-up image; and a transmission control unit for outputting only a result of detection of the executed processing algorithm to the network if the monitoring event has not been detected, and outputting at least a picked-up image if the monitoring event has been detected; and (b) an event determining section for determining the generation of a monitoring event, based on the received result of processing and a recording control section for recording the received picked-up image, wherein the management apparatus houses a plurality of imaging apparatuses via the network.
