    • PURPOSE:To enable easy replacement of a recording head or a ribbon cassette by arranging a discharge roller above an ink ribbon cassette for retreating when the ink ribbon cassette is attached or detached. CONSTITUTION:A bailing roller 11 is mounted on a transmission lever 29, and the pressure contact and separation of the roller 11 to a discharge roller 10 are selected by rotation of the transmission lever 29 through operation of a release lever 21. The roller 11 is installed on the transmission lever 29 through a roller arm 32 attached in such a manner that said roller arm rotates with a fulcrum 31 on the transmission lever as a center. A stopper 33 for limiting a rotational range is provided on the arm 32. A free space can be formed above a recording head 4 and a ribbon cassette 6 by moving the bailing roller 11 to an escape position above as shown by a two dot chain line 34 through manual operation, if necessary, by an operator. Consequently, when the ribbon cassette 6 or the recording head 4 is replaced, replacement operation can be easily performed by moving the roller 11 to the escape position 34 above.

    • PURPOSE:To make an opening and closing mechanism compact as well as eliminate the needs for paying attention to inserting direction of medium by providing a link mechanism which is locked when closing the transporting guider for medium, and unlocked when opening it after the locked state has been released. CONSTITUTION:When page-switching process is generated, solenoids 13a and 13b are excited, and lock rings 73a and 73b are turned toward the direction of arrow x3 around shafts 76a and 76b. Lock pins 50a and 50b are released from right above shutters 14a and 14b. At the time when the outermost part of B-face of the shutter is moved outwards by a distance of l, since the fixing pins 80a and 80b of shutter links 53a and 53b are set to contact with the upside C-face of the notched holes 82a and 82b of the shutters, the shutters can turn in directions of arrows thetaa and thetab. When plungers 61a and 61b are attracted, the shutters open at a given angle to secure a space necessary for page-switching process. When releasing the excitation of the solenoids 13a and 13b, each part operates to opposite directions, the shutters drop freely to make an opening and closing mechanism for the guider with self-locking function.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to freely adjust recording paper by releasing the contact of a paper press plate and a platen at the release time of paper, by constituting the titled apparatus so that the paper press plate is separated from the platen in cooperation with a release lever and a pinch roller can be separated from a paper feed roller. CONSTITUTION:At the time of usual recording using roll paper or cut paper, a release lever 6 takes an upright state and arms 6b, 6c are not contacted with the projection 5b of a paper press plate 5 and the shaft 4a of a platen. When the release of paper is not performed, the release lever 6 is revolved to a counterclockwise direction. Whereupon, the arm 6b is contacted with the projection 5b to allow the paper press plate 5 to revolve to a counterclockwise direction to separate the same from the platen 2. The arm 6c is contacted with the shaft 4a of a pinch roller 4 to separate said roller 4 from a paper feed roller 1. Therefore, recording paper is not restricted by the pinch roller 4 and the paper press plate 5 and can be freely moved.

    • PURPOSE:To secure following-up of pressure rollers, by providing rollers which are fitted respectively to two roller shafts supported in parallel with a platen and are pressed against or separated from the platen concurrently with rotation of a rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:To obtain a paper-feeding condition, a knob 17 is shifted in the direction of an arrow (a), whereby the positional relationship between a lever engaging part 16a and a toggle spring 18 is changed, and concurrently with the rotation of the rotary shaft 3, a guide plate 5 and the pressure rollers 13, 13, 14, 14 are rotated in the direction of an arrow (b) in an interlocked manner. The pressure rollers 13, 13, 14, 14 presses a set paper against the platen 4 in a perfect contact condition. In this case, since a gap is formed between a pin 23 of a lever 16 and a slot provided in an arm member 20, the force of the spring 18 does not act on the pressure of the rollers 13, 13, 14, 14.
