    • PURPOSE:To make it easy to collect water by burying the lower part of a rigid tube well cylinder as a water storage tank into an impermeable layer, inserting screen collecting pipes into a large number of radially excavated longer shafts, and jetting high pressure water to form an under water guide channel. CONSTITUTION:The lower part of a rigid tube well cylinder 1 as a water storage tank 1a is buried into an impermeable layer D, and a large number of longer shafts are excavated from through-holes bored in the perimeter of the tank 1a. After that, screen collecting pipes 2 provided with conical tips 2b and having the same girth as a screen section 2a are inserted into the longer shafts to load to the girth of the well cylinder 1. Then, high pressure feed pipes 3 connected to a high pressure water-pump are inserted into the pipes 2, and high-pressure water W is jetted from a jet spouting nozzle 3a. The layer D is washed to form an under water guide channel, and the under water collected from a large number of pipes 2 is stored into the tank 1a. According to the constitution, water collection can be easily made.

    • A hydrocarbon production apparatus comprises an injection well, perforated casing, hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection tubing, a first wellbore restrictor, and a production well. The injection well is bored above the production well within a hydrocarbon reservoir below a ground surface. The injection well comprises a heel end and a toe end. The perforated casing is positioned along a length of the injection well. The hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection tubing is disposed within the injection well and has a hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection end. The first wellbore restrictor is transversely disposed within the perforated casing to control hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid flow along the injection well, the first wellbore restrictor being spaced closer to the toe end of the injection well than the hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection end of the hydrocarbon viscosity reducing fluid injection tubing is to the toe end. The first wellbore restrictor is movable through the injection well under control from the ground surface. This apparatus allows the propagation of, for example, the steam chamber in a steam assisted gravity drainage operation to be precisely controllable and adjustable, in order to more efficiently produce hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon reservoir.

    • A well completion, and method for recovering heavy hydrocarbons or bitumen from a subterranean formation. The completion includes a well liner which lies in a generally horizontal disposition within a hydrocarbon holding substrate to define the main or primary well. A secondary well which extends to the surface intersects the main well to communicate therewith. Said secondary well includes means to conduct a stream of hot stimulating fluid into the main well. A fluid impervious barrier or flow diverter means positioned within the main well between the injection end and the production end, establishes a pressure differential across the barrier. The barrier urges stimulating agent into the substrate at a desired location, thereby creating a heated path along which the bitumen emulsion flows toward the well's production end. Means is provided in the secondary well to position the impervious barrier from one end of the main well to the other.
