    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for effectively deodorizing a bad smell of machine oil such as cutting oil. SOLUTION: A method of deodorizing machine oil is characterized by containing an adding process of adding ozone to machine oil subject to be deodorized, and a radiating process of radiating an ultraviolet ray from an ultraviolet lamp to the ozonic oil obtained in the process. A deodorizing apparatus 1 includes an outer bath 2 for a deodorization process, an inner bath 3 placed in the outer bath 2, an ultraviolet lamp 6 placed in the inner bath 3, a suction pipe 7 whose one end is connected to communicate with an ozone production space 4 between the inner bath and the ultraviolet lamp and the other end is with an oil flow space 5 between the outer bath and the inner bath, and a blower 8 for blowing air in the suction pipe 7 from the ozone production space 4 side to the oil flow space 5 side.
