The hydrant system comprises a sluice valve (20) connected to a water-guide tube (10) within a manhole M, the sluice valve having a first opening/shutting shaft (21) disposed therein; a female cylinder (30) having a drain valve (31) that is opened when the sluice valve (20) is locked and that is locked when the sluice valve (20) is opened, and a bracket (36) having a through-hole; a male cylinder (40) having a piston (45) for opening/shutting the bottom of the male cylinder (40) as a piston rod (44) is rotated in the forward or reverse direction; a rod (50) for limiting a projection range of the male cylinder (40) protruded against the female cylinder (30); a manhole cover (60) having a sub hole (62) through which the male cylinder (40) passes; a second opening/shutting shaft (61) for rotating the first opening/shutting shaft (21); and a universal joint (70), which connects the first opening/shutting shaft (21) and the second opening/shutting shaft (51).

    • Integrated flow control backflow preventer valve ("IFCBPV") for new and existing wet- and dry-barrel fire hydrants, with barrel drain assemblies for dry-barrel hydrants, and hydrants equipped with such IFCBPVs, are presented. An exemplary IFCBPV can have a retaining screen comprising equidistant concave radial spokes intersecting at a central ring structure, a freely suspended check ball, and a lower ball seat with a seal. The upper surface of the retaining screen can be affixed to the hydrant's axial shaft, and can thus be used to open and close the hydrant via the ball. Alternatively, the retaining screen can be fixed and the axial shaft provided with a cup on its bottom that mates with the freely suspended ball that is caged between the retaining screen and the ball seat. An exemplary barrel drain assembly can comprise a spring-loaded piston, or alternatively, a check ball design as in the main barrel.

    • The present invention relates to an elevating fire hydrant assembly in which an elevating pipe automatically projects from the ground by means of water pressure when a fire hydrant is to be used, and the speed for lowering the elevating pipe projecting from the ground after use is adjustable. The elevating fire hydrant assembly comprises: a water pipe (10) which supplies firefighting water in accordance with the open/shut operation of a water control valve (70) buried underground; an elbow pipe (20) connected to the water pipe (10); a fixing pipe (30) connected to the elbow pipe (20); an elevating pipe (40) which is coupled to the fixing pipe (30) to retract into or extend from the ground, and the lower end of which is coupled to a guide block (41) that slides along the inner surface of the fixing pipe (30); a sealing pipe (31) coupled to the top of the fixing pipe (30) to prevent the elevating pipe (40) from escaping; a head block (50) which is coupled to the top of the elevating pipe (40), and which has a hose connector (51) for connecting a firefighting hose (100); and valve means for opening/shutting the lower end of the elevating pipe. The assembly enables the elevating pipe (40) to move upward by the pressure of firefighting water supplied through the water pipe (10) when the lower end of the elevating pipe (40) is shut by the valve means.
