    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass spectrometric imaging method which enables speedy and accurate acquisition of imaging profiles of a sample, having a self-sustained shape under atmospheric pressure. SOLUTION: The mass spectrometric imaging method includes the steps of sequentially forcing generated charged liquid drops to move toward the receiving unit of a mass spectrometer along the traveling path, scanning a sample with a laser beam which has irradiated energy sufficient to cause analytes contained in the sample to be desorbed to be made to undergo flight along a plurality of flight paths, respectively, and positioning the laser beam to render the plurality of flight paths intersecting the traveling path so as to permit a plurality of the analytes, respectively along the plurality of flight paths to be confined in a plurality of the charged liquid drops, respectively, to thereby form a plurality of corresponding ionized analytes.
