摘要： A single-shaft assembly with a base and telescoping sections that form both a tripod and a monopod. The base is a single section with at least two legs individually hinged at the bottom of the section. The legs can be pivoted independently. All legs pivoted outward form a tripod. All legs pivoted upward form a monopod. Minimum length and portability are provided when all sections are retracted and all legs are pivoted upward. Modularity allows sections to be individually removed so that they can be used in whole or in part. Modularity is provided for through a latch assembly. The top section of the shaft, and the tripod/monopod handle each has a threaded screw for mounting a camera or other device, including—but not limited to—spotting scopes, binoculars, gun rests and a light source. Individual sections, when detached, make special purpose monopods, chest pods, belt pods and extendable polls.

摘要： A combined gun rest and armrest is described which includes an armrest which is attachable to a tripod. The armrest has a pair of elongated slots into which U-shaped gun rests are inserted and are laterally adjusted to support a gun. One of the gun rests is constructed to accommodate the forearm of the gun; and the other, the stock of the gun. The lateral adjustment of the gun rests enables the positioning thereof so as to have the center of gravity of the gun aligned with the tripod connection. Upon placing the gun in the gun rests, the opening between the gun and the armrest enables the marksmen to assume the normal shooting position and provides unencumbered access to the trigger and the area surrounding the trigger. The device is constructed to be compatible with the normal physical range. However, in the cases outside the range, the gun rests may be raised or lowered accordingly. Once adjusted for a particular person and for a particular gun, the settings are readily maintained for future use.

The central portion generally supports the gun, while the left and the right sidewalls generally restrain longitudinal motion of the gun with respect to the gun support device. An opening extends through the central portion at a position to permit at least a portion of the trigger of the gun to extend therethrough, thereby making the trigger accessible while the gun is received in the elongate channel. The gun support device further has an attachment mechanism for attaching the gun support device to a tripod or another support structure. Placing a gun in the gun support devices relieves the gun user of the task of holding the gun for extended periods of time and from resting the gun on the ground.
