    • A method of hydraulic fracturing of an oil producing formation includes the provision of a heating apparatus which is transportable and that has a vessel for containing water. The method contemplates heating the water up to a temperature of about 200° F. (93.3° C.). A water stream of cool or cold water is transmitted from a source to a mixer, the cool water stream being at ambient temperature. The mixer has an inlet that receives cool or cold water from the source and an outlet that enables a discharge of a mix of cool or cold water and the hot water. After mixing in the mixer, the water assumes a temperature that is suitable for mixing with chemicals that are used in the fracturing process, such as a temperature of about 40°-120° F.+ (4.4-48.9° C.+). An outlet discharges a mix of the cool and hot water to surge tanks or to mixing tanks. In the mixing tanks, a proppant and an optional selected chemical or chemicals are added to the water which has been warmed. From the mixing tanks, the water with proppant and optional chemicals is injected into the well for part of the hydraulic fracturing operation. The mixer preferably employs lateral fittings that enable heated water to enter the mixer bore at an acute angle. The mixer can also provide a lateral fitting that exits the mixer bore upstream of the first lateral fitting, the second lateral fitting transmitting water via a conduit such as a hose to the heater.

    • A constant temperature valve used in a faucet has a sleeve, an actuator and a plurality of separate spring rings. A plurality of O-shaped rubber rings is distributed longitudinally on an outer peripheral of the sleeve and divides the outer peripheral of the sleeve into a plurality of sections. The actuator forms a plurality of collars on a peripheral thereof for fitting with sections of the sleeve. A plurality of grooves is defined in an outer peripheral of the collars of the actuator for retaining the spring rings. Each spring ring forms a gap for enhancing resiliency thereof. The spring rings shrink appropriately to facilitate the actuator slidable relative to the sleeve 1 when dirty or hair is filled between the actuator and the sleeve. Thus, the constant temperature valve accurately responds to temperature control requirement. On the other hand, the spring rings and the grooves allow to lower manufacture precision requirement of the actuator and sleeve.

    • A freestanding or Roman bathtub plumbing system including a bathtub filler (such as a spout and/or hand-held shower) controlled by a compact thermostatic mixing valve. The thermostatic mixing valve is installed in a bathtub plumbing set having a hand-held shower accessory. The thermostatic mixing valve receives hot and cold water from the main hot and cold water inlet pipes, respectively, located upstream of the respective hot and cold water control valves used to control the supply of water to the fillers. The hot and cold water feed pipes are each hydraulically connected to a first respective hot and cold water inlet of the thermostatic mixing valve. The bathtub fillers are hydraulically connected to the outlet of the thermostatic mixing valve, such as by a pipe or flexible hose. Hot and cold water entering the thermostatic mixing valve are mixed therein independently; water exiting the thermostatic mixing valve is characterized by a predetermined maximum temperature, such that a tub occupant will not be accidentally scalded.
