    • PURPOSE:To make possible to adjust a pressing force against a paper sheet, by pressing a paper feed roller against the peripheral surface of a platen by means of a coil spring through the intermediary of a rotary member, and by adjusting the force of the coil spring acting upon the rotary member with the use of a detent mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A bar 5 is fixed at one end to a holder 13 for a paper feed roller 3 and at the other end to a rotary member 4 pivotally supported to a housing. A lever 6 is secured at its center part to the rotary member 4 and is also coupled at its one end to an actuating lever 8 in a detect mechanism. When the paper feed condition is set, a release lever 10 is turned into an unreleased condition from a released condition, overcoming a leaf spring 12. Further, if it is necessary to adjust the pressing force of the paper feed roller 3 for a paper sheet against the peripheral surface of a platen 1, the actuating lever 8 in the detent mechanism is operated to change the position of the lever 8 with respect to a detect member 9.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a paper feed apparatus capable of miniaturizing the whole and reducing the weight thereof, constituted so as to push down a support member, which pivotally supports a holding member for pivotally mounting a paper bail roller, by a paper bail release lever by revolving said suport member around the through-hole of a machine frame. CONSTITUTION:In correcting the distortion of printing paper which is wound around a platen 1 by inserting the same from the insert part 13b of a peper guide 13, a release lever 7 is rotated to a direction shown by the arrow A. The dowel part 11d of a support angle 11 is pushed by the cam part 7a thereof to be revolved to a direction shown by the arrow B and a paper bail roller 8 is pushed down to a vertical downward direction through a holding plate 9 to release the printing paper held between the platen 1 and the roller 8. After the printing paper is corrected, the lever 7 is revolved to the direction opposite to the arrow A and printing paper is contacted with the platen 1 by the roller 8.

    • Reliable transporting of recording media through a platen is achieved in known typewriters by contact rollers arranged in the paper guide trough. For inserting and aligning the paper, these contact rollers and the guide plate must be raised from the platen. The invention is based on the object of providing a paper guide for printers which is simpler in terms of construction and less expensive to produce and easier to assemble compared to the known arrangements. This object is achieved in that the paper carrier (5) has two bars (6, 7) arranged on both sides of the platen bearing (4) and parallel to the platen (2), of which the bar (6) arranged on the paper inlet side has fastening and aligning elements for one longitudinal edge (10) of the paper guide trough (1) and the bar (7) arranged on the paper outlet side has a catch recess (11) in which a bent portion (12) on the other free longitudinal edge (13) of the paper guide trough (1), which was flat prior to installation, can be engaged when the platen (2) is inserted in its bearing (4) with the paper guide trough (1) fitting snugly against the platen (2). This obviates the need for the paper guide rollers and the paper contact rollers of the known guide devices. The manufacture of the paper guide trough is very simple since it only assumes its final shape and functional position when the platen is inserted.
