摘要： Disclosed herein is a method for recovering an acid or a base during a metal extraction process. The method comprises contacting a feed stream comprising the acid or base and the metal with an ultrafiltration membrane to produce an ultrafiltration retentate and an ultrafiltration permeate, and contacting the ultrafiltration permeate with a nanofiltration membrane. The nanofiltration retentate produced comprises a majority of the metal from the feed stream, and the nanofiltration permeate produced comprises a majority of the acid or base from the feed stream. Also disclosed herein is a recovery apparatus for recovering an acid or a base during a metal extraction process.

The pretreatment device for membrane separation is disclosed in which impurities in the fluid to be treated which influence (adversely affect) a separation membrane are efficiently adsorbed, to enable suppression of deterioration of the separation membrane.

摘要： A system and process for reducing fouling in a catalytic bed-based deoxygenation unit include a filtration system having a plurality of selectively permeable membranes arranged to contact a raw seawater feed and provide a membrane permeate. The membrane permeate is comprised of a portion of the raw seawater feed from which contaminants, such as dissolved inorganic salts and organic constituents, have been removed by passing through the selectively permeable membranes. The system and process also include a catalyst bed-based deoxygenation unit that receives the membrane permeate. The filtration system may be a nanofiltration, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, or reverse osmosis membrane system.

Each membrane unit (55) has an inlet flow control valve (93) connecting between its inlet (57) and the common inlet header of the stage in which it is located, and an outlet flow control valve (63) connecting between its outlet (59) and the common outlet header of the stage in which it is located. The inlet flow control valve (57) and outlet flow control valve (63) are operable to isolate the membrane unit (55) from its common inlet header and common outlet header to allow cleaning of said membrane unit to take place without disrupting operation of the remaining membrane treatment plant. A control system for the membrane treatment plant is also disclosed.

摘要： Redundant filtration system that includes at least one barrier filter as a process filter, the barrier filter having both hydrophilic and hydrophobic paths, allowing both fluid and gas permeability. The need for vents is eliminated, as is an intermediate drain filter. The device also can be dried in series. The filtration system includes a network of conduits and receptacles, the network receiving liquid raw and/or starting material at one end, conducting it through the process stream defined thereby, and producing the desired liquid product at another end. The network is provided with one or more in-puts for introducing liquid raw material into the fluid process stream, and one or more output ports for discharging fluid out of the fluid process stream. The network is preferably an essentially closed network, and also, preferably sterile and/or aseptic.
