摘要： A system is disclosed for the absorption of an impact, that system comprises a blow molded thermoplastic energy absorbing member. The blow molded thermoplastic energy absorbing member provides opposing first and second walls defining a hollow space; according to one embodiment, a plurality of fused and unfused recessed ribs integrally molded between the first and second walls. The fused recessed ribs have a fused recessed rib end. The fused recessed rib ends are integrally fused to either opposite recessed rib ends or the facing opposite wall at a welded surface such that the height of the recessed ribs from the first wall to the welded surface is about approximately 15.0 to 45.0 mm. The recessed ribs are, according to one embodiment, connected by a plurality of straight interlocking ribs.

The combination may also include a polypropylene non-woven material (18) combined with a polyethylene film (20) to form a laminate top (12) and bottom layer (16). The chopped fiber roving (22) is randomly disposed between the laminate (21) and a urethane matrix (44) used to form a core (14) of the headliner (10) to provide the shape stability to the headliner (1).

摘要： A method of producing an annular foam product having a foam filler covered by a tubular skin. A core embedded in the filler includes a connecting portion and a U-shaped portion which form an annular frame. Opposite edges of each of at least one skin member are joined together to form a U-shaped skin tube surrounding the U-shaped portion, such that the joined edges are located inside of the U-shaped skin tube. A skin sheet is jointed at opposite ends to corresponding opposite ends of the U-shaped skin tube so as to surround the connecting portion, while the end portions of the skin sheet are turned outside in. The end portions of the skin sheet are then turned over to expose its nominal outside outwardly, and opposite edges of the skin sheet along the connecting portion are joined together to form a connecting skin tube which surrounds the connecting portion of the annular frame. The U-shaped skin tube and the connecting skin tube constitute the tubular skin which encloses the annular frame. A foamable material is injected into the cavity formed between the tubular skin and the annular frame.
