摘要： Disclosed is a cover mountable to a beverage container and mounting method and apparatus thereof. The container cover detachably mountable to an upper surface of a beverage container comprises a body which is formed to have substantially a disc-shaped configuration. The body is partly cut away from an edge toward a center thereof thereby to define a beverage discharging opening which has a predetermined width and a predetermined contour, The beverage discharging opening is capable of being selectively communicated with a discharging hole of the beverage container as the body is rotated. An inner end of the beverage discharging opening is delimited by a rotation guiding part which has a predetermined curvature to guide rotation of the body. The body has a straw insertion hole which is defined therein at a predetermined location to have a predetermined diameter in a manner such that a straw can be inserted therethrough. The body further has an advertisement surface which has a predetermined area in a manner such that an advertising design, letters, and so forth can be printed or an attachment can be affixed thereon.

摘要： A protective cap having a sealable cover for canned soft drinks and the like is disclosed. The cap comprises an outer periphery configured to receive and snap over a conventional beverage can such that a gas-tight seal is formed, a grate positioned to cover the opening in the top of the can through which the beverage may be consumed, and a hingeable cover having a seal which can be rotated between opened and closed positions to permit consumption of the beverage when in the open position and to seal the container when in the closed position. The sealing of the container prevents contamination of the enclosed beverage and seals in carbonation. It also prevents spillage if the container is overturned.

摘要： A flexible closure is disclosed for resealing opened circular-topped containers of carbonated fluids. The flexible cover has a top portion, and a sealing skirt, the sealing skirt being rigidly attached to the top portion. The top portion has a central relieved portion which is deflectable in response to pressure from carbon dioxide gas escaping from the fluid. The sealing skirt extends from the top portion and is adapted to receive the circular top of the container in sealing relationship. The sealing skirt may be rotated either radially towards the container, by deflection of the central relieved portion away from the contrainer, or radially away from the container by deflection of the central relieved portion towards the container. The flexible closure is therefore easily removed or secured to the opened container, and yet maintains a seal as a result of pressure from carbon dioxide gas escaping the fluid.

摘要： An easy open can end construction and method of making it. The pull tab and tear strip remain fully locked onto the can end, and the opening strip does not dip into the beverage. Bead members positioned externally of the tear strip not only preserve a desired orientation of the pull tab with respect to the tear strip but also serve as a guard against the user's face or tongue contacting the raw edge left after lifting the tear strip. The tear strip itself is provided with one or more protective pads to protect the user's face. A sanitary cover member overlies the tear strip and is rolled up with the pull tab and tear strip becoming interlocked therewith. A method of making the score line pattern is included so that tearing occurs along a single side of the bottom of the score line pattern to avoid a zigzag tear pattern which is dangerous to the user's tongue or lips. Finally, a method of making a rivet is included in which two metal thicknesses are joined together to avoid a leaking problem encountered in single metal thickness rivets.

摘要： Improved easy open means for containers. Especially adapted to those used for liquids, including carbonated beverages, and permitting drinking from the container or pouring out contents. An important feature is attachment of closure to container after opening to avoid litter. Main feature is an openable segment in the top defined by a score line that extends almost all around its periphery, but interrupted at one point by an unscored section which provides integral hingeable attachment means to secure the segment to the top within the container after opening. Opening of the segment is accomplished by a manually operated elongated leverage lift tab which is hingeably secured to the top by a rivet which is positioned just outside of the segment and close to the score line. The outer longer lift end of the lift tab extends over the container top beyond the segment, and the shorter inner end extends partially over the segment, and comprises a downward pressure exerting extension. When the lift end is raised, the inner end exerts high downward pressure near the score line, thereby rupturing the score line with the rupture starting near the pressure point and extending on around the periphery, and the segment is thereby hinged down into the container where it remains attached to the top by the hingeable unscored section. The lift tab is then folded back out of the way to a position just overlying the container top, and ready for drinking from the can or pouring out the contents. Other features include various lift tab pressure exerting means, depression in top for lift tab, angular positioning of lift tab for improved rupturing and less obstruction to the user, part of score line replaced by adhesive sealing for easier initial rupture, various means for stiffening segment and top, stronger tab hinge means, separate downward pressure points for start and finish of rupture, supplementary score line groove on underside of top.
