    • PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and largely reduce the weight by forming the outer peripheral surface of the piston section of a piston formed in one unit with a connecting rod into a spherical shape in contact with the inner surface of a cylinder bore. CONSTITUTION:A connecting rod integrated piston 13 constituted with a piston section 13a and a connecting rod section 13b in one unit is provided in a cylinder block 11. The outer peripheral surface shape of a piston section body 13a' is formed into a convex section and a concave section extending all over the outer periphery, and an annular piston ring 14 of a spherical shape with the outer spherical surface of a radius R is coupled around the outer periphery. The radius R is essentially made the same size as the inner radius of a cylinder bore 12, thus the outer peripheral surface of the piston ring 14 is brought into full contact with the inner surface of the cylinder bore.

    • A linear drive portion is fixed to a piston. A nut portion and a screw portion relatively rotate, and a direction of action of driving force is converted between a rotational direction and a linear direction. The piston is installed within a case. The inner circumference of a piston sliding portion fixed within the case slidably supports the outer circumference of the piston. The nut portion is displaced with the piston, and the screw portion rotates in conjunction with a rotational drive portion. The piston is installed so as to be able to slide in the axial direction of the case with respect to the piston sliding portion. The axis of the piston and the central position of the inner circumference of the piston sliding portion are set to be eccentric with respect to the axis of the screw portion and the nut portion.

    • A piston unit of a working cylinder has first and second coupling partners. The first coupling partner is a piston. The second coupling partner is a piston rod. The piston rod is inserted axially into the piston. Each of the coupling partners has an annular groove, the groove of the piston rod is an external groove, the groove of the piston is an internal groove. The grooves of the coupling partners lie opposite one another. The unit has a spring-loaded coupling ring. The coupling ring, when deformed in a tensioning direction, is fully accommodated by the groove of one coupling partner and which, when deformed in a release direction, engages in the grooves of both coupling partners. The engagement of the coupling ring in the grooves produces a form-locking connection between the partners. The piston rod is oversized in relation to the piston and provides an additional frictional connection.
