摘要： A passive adjustable frame acts as an edge “spacer” around the peripheral bottom edge of the mattress positioned between the bottom of the mattress and an underlying support, such as a box spring, slats, platform etc. The spacer has an angled upper surface which creates a gap into which bedding may be more easily tucked without lifting the mattress. The spacer may be adjustable in length and width so that the peripheral length and width dimensions that are roughly the same size as the mattress with which the frame is being used and it is thus universally adaptable to multiple different standard mattress sizes.

摘要： A non-scaled, linearly compressed pictographic mapping system is provided for the visual display of information in a navigational aid. Unlike today's road maps which use a point-arc-polygon paradigm, the new mapping uses a non-scaled, linearly-compressed pictographic design that shows roads as linear pictograms. The display has a columnar layout, whereby the descriptive elements are grouped together by type, and displayed one above the other in columns. The maps may also contain icons representing points of interest. In this manner, the mapping paradigm also serves to increase traveler safety, provide navigation assistance during address-less trips, create valuable advertising space and new promotional opportunities, and dramatically increases the travelers' communications and entertainment options.

摘要： There are described herein systems and methods for producing and distributing personalized photographic souvenirs for spectators of an event. Equipment well-known in the art is used to take photographs of performers at the event, and to scan images or take photos of items representative of the event, for example a ticket stub, advertisement, or team names and logos. In addition, at least one pan-and-tilt camera system, also well-known in the art, is used to take an orderly, indexed series of photos of the spectators such that substantially every spectator will appear in at least one spectator photo. The spectator photos are indexed according to a predetermined mapping algorithm, which maps a particular location of the venue to a virtual sector. Individual souvenirs are then created at the venue in a centralized processing location, by organizing and combining a spectator photo with the other photos and/or scanned images. The souvenirs are then distributed to vendors who then present them to spectators in the sector or sectors from where the spectator photo was taken. The souvenirs may also be available to the spectator from the centralized processing location.

摘要： There is disclosed herein a new form of card of the trading card type which provides a three-dimensional effect. The card includes a master sheet or card having a background picture, along with an action picture of a person printed or disposed on a substrate and which substrate is directly bonded to the surface of the card to provide a substantially continuous profile edge around the picture and which edge preferably is substantially perpendicular to the surface of the background picture. This arrangement enables a shadow to exist along this profile edge and to give an enhanced three-dimensional effect. The reverse side of the trading card preferably has detailed biographical information, detailed life sports statistics and a family picture or likeness. An alternative embodiment includes providing a profile picture of a person on a substrate and preferably with a pin on-the reverse side to enable the same to be worn on clothing. A display pad is also disclosed which includes a plurality of slits or slots, preferably arranged like player positions on a sports field, and into which cards of the present invention can be inserted for display or other purposes. Other applications to the present techniques and electronic retrieval of information from cards also are disclosed.

摘要： A credit card reader shields a credit card, stores data from one or more credit cards simultaneously and then selectively broadcasts data associated with one of the cards. A slim, electromagnetically shielding housing has a cavity and a card reader for reading data from a credit card received in the cavity. A processor connects the card reader to a memory component, and connects both to an RFID device, where the credit card data can be broadcast to an RFID reader. A control interface allows a user to initiate reading credit card data, to select a card data set to store in memory, or to broadcast a dataset. A display shows transaction information and stored card data. A retractable input/output plug can engage a socket on another device to transmit and receive data. A memory card device can selectively store credit card data and transaction data.
