    • Disclosed herein is a container for holding a burnable coil bearing an active ingredient, such as an insecticide, insect repellant, deodorizer, or fragrance. The container includes a base having a raised coil support for mounting the coil and a spiral recess or spirally arrayed support peaks which permit air circulation beneath the coil and inhibit premature snuffing. The coil is enclosed by a cover having a downwardly depending hold-down aligned with the coil support to prevent the coil from moving in the container. The cover also has openings allowing air to pass into the container and vapors to be released. The cover is rotatably mounted to the base so that the cover openings can be selectively opened and closed to allow controlled venting and snuffing of the coil.

    • A battery powered volatile dispenser for dispensing a volatile material, the volatile dispenser including a housing having an air inlet, an air outlet, an airflow path therebetween, and a holder for a volatile reservoir for supplying a volatile to be introduced into air flowing in the airflow path. The volatile dispenser has a fan adapted to be powered by a battery, the fan being so located that it propels air through the airflow path and also is unrestrictedly visible to a user of the volatile dispenser. The volatile dispenser also has an electrical power cut-off that activates to cut off power to the fan when the battery voltage drops beneath a selected level greater than zero to provide a prominent visual cue of battery depletion. A method of providing a prominent visual cue of battery or volatile depletion by use of the volatile dispenser is also disclosed.

    • A volatile carrier for supplying a volatile ingredient to a heating device to be dispensed thereby, the heating device having a heat transfer site and a pass-through path to receive an inserted volatile carrier at one end of the pass-through path to position the volatile carrier adjacent to the heat transfer site. The volatile carrier has a substantially unitary reservoir block containing a supply of the volatile ingredient. The reservoir block is greater in size than the heat transfer site. An advancement device is supplied by which a user can manually advance the reservoir block past the heat transfer site to expose different portions of the reservoir block to heat. A method of supplying a volatile ingredient to such a heating device by use of such a volatile carrier is also described.
