[Also in Divisions B6 and E1] A translucent mosaic panel comprises a substantially two-dimensioned [flat] reinforced, loadbearing, unitary framework of intersecting reinforced concrete beams and, on one surface of the framework, a mosaic of pieces of stained glass or other translucent material set in a matrix layer of epoxy resin which adheres to the concrete framework. The layer of epoxy resin may be reinforced with glass fibre or other material, e.g. glass fibre rovings that are connected to the reinforcement of the concrete framework by threading rings of glass fibre on to the reinforcement such that they project from the surface of the concrete framework into the adjacent layer of epoxy resin. The glass fibre rovings can then be reeved through the projecting portions of the rings before the epoxy resin layer is cast. The epoxy resin may contain fine and coarse sand, quartz flour, and a block colouring material. In making the panel, a number of formwork islands are placed in the bottom of a mould, metal reinforcement is positioned within the mould between the islands, concrete is poured into the mould up to the height of the islands, the concrete is allowed to set to form a unitary, reinforced, load bearing concrete framework, pieces of stained glass or other translucent material are placed on the islands to form a mosaic, a layer of epoxy resin is cast around the mosaic and on top of the framework and any exposed parts of the upper surfaces of the islands, the epoxy resin is allowed to set and the composite panel is separated from the mould and formwork islands. The exposed surface of the epoxy resin layer may be covered with slate dust while the resin is still tacky but in the mould. The formwork islands may be of a foamed plastics material such as foamed polystyrene. The mould may be a vibratory mould having a carrier which overlies the mould and which is provided with clamps to hold the formwork islands against the bottom of the mould and depending supports for supporting reinforcement for the concrete framework out of contact with the bottom of the mould, the carrier being removable from the mould. The mould may be pivotally connected about a horizontal axis along one edge to a fixed support, the pivotal connection being releasable. The bottom of the mould may be a false metal floor heated from beneath by hot water. A number of the panels may be mounted alongside one another to form a large stained glass window in, say, the wall of a church or public building.

    • Patient conveying and supporting apparatus in which a frame 15, 16, 17 is positioned peripherally around an inflatable mattress 14 which has been spread out ready for inflation beneath a patient. Securing clips 22 extending along or spaced apart in the length of each of a pair of opposed side members of the frame 15, 16, 17 engages with the mattress 14 along or at a plurality of spaced positions in the length of corresponding edges thereof. The mattress 14 is inflatable after its engagement by the securing clips 22 to effect tensioning of the mattress within the frame 15, 16, 17. An upstanding support 6 engageable with a side member of the frame 15, 16, 17 supports the latter in the manner of a cantilever extending from the side member in the plane of the frame. A trolley 1 on which the support 6 is mounted conveys the frame, together with a mattress when supported thereby, from one location to another. Rams 8 and 9 are provided to raise and lower the support, and thus the frame and mattress when mounted thereon, with respect to the trolley 1.

    • The eyeshield comprises a strip of coloured, semi-rigid transparent film (10) formed to provide a central eyeshielding portion (11), a nose piece (12) and a pair of wings (14) extending on either side of the eyeshielding portion. Each of the wings (14) is resiliently movable relative to the eyeshielding portion (11) by virtue of a plurality of substantially parallel crimps (13) which enable the effective length of the wings (14) to be adjusted such that the eyeshielding may be worn by persons having differing head sizes. At the of each wing (14) is provided an ear engaging loop (15) adapted to loop over an ear of the person wearing the eyeshield, the loop being formed with a piece of resilient foam material (17). Along an upper rear edge of the eyeshielding portion (11), a strip of resilient foam (18) is provided to space the eyeshielding portion (11) from the forehead of a wearer to prevent discomfort due to rubbing of the edge of the strip against the forehead and to adequately space the strip from the eyes and eyelashes.

    • The present invention provides a garment hanger (10) comprising a body portion (14) and a hook portion (12) by which the hanger may be suspended. The body potion (14) comprises a pair of arms (16) each of which is provided with clip means (18) adapted to grasp a garment. The clip means (18) comprises a pair of fingers (20, 22) each having a first end (26, 27) and a second end (24, 25). The first ends (26, 27) of the fingers (20, 22) are positioned adjacent each other and the second ends (24, 25) are held in a spaced apart relationship. The clip means (18) is connected to or formed integrally with the arm (16) of the hanger (10) in a manner such that bringing the second ends (24, 25) of the fingers (20, 22) together causes the first ends (26, 27) to move apart and creates a torsional force in the arm (16) of the hanger (10). The torsional force created acts to urge the first ends (26, 27) back towards each other.
