An improved golf club, for use in the rough with reduced risk of the stroke of the club head being slowed or impeded by grass &c., is provided with a cutting edge on the hozel of the club head, at least a part of the cutting edge being on the leading face of the hozel when the club is used. The hozel is the stub shaft of the club head. As shown in the Figs., the cutting edge is provided by a rib (11) on hozel (10). Alternatively the cutting edge, or edges, which may be serrated, may be formed by one or both lips of a groove and may extend helically round the hozel.

A combined seat-walking stick and periscope consists of an objective reflecting surface 12 provided adjacent to the 'bottom' end of the stick and a viewing reflecting surface 15 adjacent to the seat end wherein provision is made for setting and retaining the objective reflecting surface in a functioning position when required and of locating it in an out of action position when not in use. The objective reflecting surface is suitably mounted on a frame, seated on a hinge attached to the stick, provided with flats 13a and 13b with which a spring pressed plunger 13 cooperates to retain the objective reflecting surface in a permissible position. The viewing reflecting surface may be fixed or suitably hingedly mounted. A hooded screen may be incorporated into the objective reflecting surface to minimise glare.
